Study topics include: short story plotting and structure; analysing market needs; understanding your target reader; working with editors; dialogue; focus; characterisation.

The course includes full tutorial support, as well as 200 pages of information presented in an attractive course folder and course book, Writing Short Stories by Ailsa Cox. It includes 6 modules and 6 tutor-marked assignments, and involves approximately 50 hours of study time. You can work through the course at your own pace and have up to 12 months to complete your studies.

You can also choose the e-mail version of this course. With this option materials are delivered in a pdf format directly to your inbox, and no course book is provided, but all other elements of the course remain the same.
